The Nocturnes (2011-2019)

Vos jours sont mes nuits, le temps suspendu (Your days are my nights; suspended time) represents a series of works on paper that explores drawing in reverse light. These works on a black background, executed in negative, may also reference daguerreotypes in the sense that, under exposure to the light spectrum, the image appears as a white imprint. The series of drawings is arranged to create a cross- symmetry. Shifting from dark blue to deep black, then to ochre, the contrasting tones intensify the nocturnal vision of this silent and impenetrable space.
