From the universe to the smallest particle of matter, everything is under the violent effect of this common geometry. All branches of science follow the rules of this common geometry. This natural geometry exists everywhere. Wherever there is matter, there is geometry.”
– Johannes Kepler

Through a work of memory reconstruction, I study the singularity of the harmonious order of nature, as well as the particular cyclical and ephemeral nature of its concrete forms. The intimate, symbolic, and atavistic relationship that the individual entertains with nature extends my reflection and generates a correspondence between the splitting of the image and the paradoxical perception of an altered, fragmented universe that is, however, constantly recomposable.

I am particularly fascinated by the entanglement, the fragile balance, and the harmony of proportions found in nature, through which a fractal geometry underscores the existence of a specific and repetitive code.

My work proposes a dialogue, a philosophical encounter between art and science, concepts that converge in a common quest and jointly explore the invisible and the sensation of infinity. The work offers itself in a silent exchange, bringing to light this open dialogue between the rational and the sensible, between the infinity of the universe and the human perception we have of it.

For several years, my work has questioned these relationships between the analysis of nature’s complex and inspiring structures and the aesthetic, sensory, and contemplative dimension that emanates from them. These components sometimes construct and deconstruct themselves, interfere or intensify according to a complex relationship that affects, on multiple levels, a rigor of mathematical, philosophical, or spiritual order.

From the organic to the gaseous, from undulation to wave, from the bud to canopy, these materials evoke states of transition that symbolize, through their transfiguration, the « reappropriation » of a nature in movement and transformation, like a perpetual metamorphosis.

– Lorraine Dagenais 2026

“There exists a very common geometry in the universe.
